Responsibilities

Mr. Gaffney is a Consulting Principal for NexGen Capital Advisors, LLC, NexGen Capital Consultants, LLC and NexGen Capital Investors, LLC (collectively, NexGen Affiliates).  He is also a principal of NexGen Capital Partners, LLC, the parent of the NexGen Affiliates, and is responsible for assisting with due diligence of Small Business Investment Companies.

Experience

Mr. Gaffney has more than 20 years of experience as a consultant and risk management professional.  He has six years of external audit and litigation support and thirteen years of internal audit and consulting experience.  Mr. Gaffney has performed risk assessments, pre-acquisition due diligence and worked with clients in a variety of industries. His career has included executive roles with KPMG LLP, Grant Thornton LLP and Crowe Horwath LLP.

Education

Mr. Gaffney received a BBA degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA degree in E-Business from DePaul University.

Certifications

Mr. Gaffney is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois, a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Civic and Professional Involvement

Mr. Gaffney is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the Illinois CPA Society.
